How long will construction last?
- Estimated timeline: September 15 – December 12
- If construction takes longer, a notification will be mailed.
What streets in Sunset Mesa will be impacted?
- All streets in Sunset Mesa will be included.
- Work will affect homes both north and south of the road.
What will be the impact to homeowners’ property and streets?
- The full impact will not be known until work begins, as it depends on utility locations.
- If street excavation is necessary, it will be patched.
- If sidewalk panels are disturbed, they will be replaced.
Should sprinkler heads be marked?
- Yes. Utilities cannot locate sprinkler heads.
- Utility locating will be handled by Metronet, but marking sprinklers is the homeowner’s responsibility.
If sidewalks are impacted, will they be repaired and matched in color?
- Yes. The goal is to restore impacted areas to the same or better condition.
If garden rocks are removed, will they be replaced with the same color/size?
- Yes. The goal is to restore impacted areas to the same or better condition.
How long do you allow for repairing disturbed areas?
- Restoration will occur as soon as possible after work is completed.
- If sprinkler lines are damaged but the issue isn’t discovered until spring, repairs will be made at that time.
Will plants or trees be saved or replaced if damaged?
- The goal is to restore impacted areas to the same or better condition.
- Contractors are asked to take before-and-after photos to help ensure proper restoration.
Are you coordinating with Colorado Springs Utilities?
- Yes, Metronet works with them to locate utility lines.
